Hello! I’m Yui.

I’m a Japanese mom sharing the home cooking I grew up with in Japan.

Here, I share Japanese recipes made from scratch with simple, natural ingredients—made practical for everyday life.

No Additives. Pure Umami.

Why Food Matters to Me

Food became important to me when I was young.
As a child, I was often unwell and missed a lot of school. During that time, my mother started cooking more from scratch and paying closer attention to the ingredients we ate every day.

Over time, my health changed dramatically, and I was able to live a normal life.
That experience became the foundation of how I think about food: what we eat every day shapes our bodies.

Now that I’m a mother myself, cooking is one of the ways I care for my family and show them love.

Food Connects Us

I’ve always loved connecting with people from different cultures.

Some of my favorite memories from time spent abroad are the meals my host families made for me—and seeing people enjoy the Japanese food I made for them.

Those experiences made me realize that food can connect us beyond language and borders.

The Way I Cook

I studied cooking in Japan and earned a cooking license, which taught me how Japanese flavor is built.

Now, as a busy mom, I’ve adapted what I learned to fit everyday life. I keep what matters for flavor, simplify where I can, and still cook from scratch.

From scratch, made practical.
